Stoneset Celtic Brooch

Description

Holyrood Stoneset Brooch

The Holyrood Stoneset Brooch is a captivating fusion of traditional Scottish artistry and contemporary craftsmanship.

Meticulously handcrafted from sterling silver at the workbench of Hebridean Jewellery, this brooch draws its inspiration from the historic Luckenbooth design—a traditional token of love dating back to the 16th century.

Originally sold near St. Giles in Edinburgh, these brooches were cherished as precious symbols of affection, much like modern engagement rings today.

At the heart of this timeless piece is a beautifully executed silver Celtic knot, a design element that powerfully symbolises unity and eternity through its interwoven lines.

The knot not only reflects the intricate artistry of Celtic design but also serves as a visual reminder of the enduring bonds that connect generations.

Enhancing the evocative charm of the piece is a choice of three enchanting gemstones set within the design.

The amethyst is known to represent wisdom and harmony, adding a touch of serene purple brilliance.

The citrine, with its warm, radiant glow, symbolises wealth and prosperity, while the smoky quartz provides an element of protection and grounding.

These gemstone options allow the wearer to choose the energy and sentiment that resonate most deeply with them.

Measuring 45mm by 35mm and with a weight of approximately 7.6 grams, the brooch is perfectly proportioned to make a statement without overwhelming the ensemble.

It is proudly hallmarked at the Edinburgh Assay Office, attesting to its authenticity and superior craftsmanship.

Each piece is supplied in a carefully crafted wooden presentation box, making the Holyrood Stoneset Brooch an ideal keepsake or a thoughtful gift imbued with centuries of Scottish heritage and meaning.

Assuming 5 is the highest, I give this brooch a 10…and indeed everything I’ve bought from Hebridean. I purchased two of these brooches, one for me, one as a wedding gift for a friend I sadly fell out with…still, the brooch is wonderful, and I’m glad I have mine
