Our History
Hebridean Jewellery was established in 1974. At that time, we were led by master craftsman John M Hart. We have been producing traditional Scottish jewellery including kilt pins, brooches, earrings, necklaces, torcs and silver celtic cufflinks, many of which are based on designs which were handed down by John’s father and which are still very popular today. Some of these pieces are set with gemstones including moss agate, carnelian, amethyst and onyx. You can also find a range of wildlife designs which reflect the natural history of Scotland. Our new contemporary jewellery ranges are created in house by our talented team.
Our team of expert silversmiths work in a beautiful workshop which is situated on the northwest coast of South Uist, in the township of Iochdar, overlooking a stunning sandy beach, looking out to the Atlantic. If you visit here, you’ll be able to see our silversmiths at work; we also have a small ( but perfectly formed!) cafe which serves home made soups, snacks and home baking.
In total we have three shops; our base in Iochdar, a shop in Portree on the Isle of Skye and a further shop in Stornoway, Lewis. We also sell our products online.
We look forward to seeing you there.
