Description
Glenmore Brooch
Penannular Brooch is an ancient style of brooch with a primitive but effective method of fastening, as used by the Picts , Norse and Celts. The pin is attached to the brooch by a little bridge at the blunt end which allows it to swivel round the narrow part of the brooch. The point of the pin, having passed through the fabric twice, is brought through the gap and the brooch is turned 90۫.

This is an excellent brooch! I’ve had mine for years – I purchased it on the Isle of Lewis. I always get compliments on it and I wear it with a plaid cashemere serape. The craftsmanship is superb and even though it is well used, it still looks new with no scratches, etc. on the penanular. It is so wonderful that these brooches actually work like the original celtic ones from ancient times. thank you!!!
